A traditional hand tufted process is applied by passing tapes through the mattress at regular intervals and securing them on both sides with cotton tufts.
The spring system is made up of several rows of 12.5-gauge open coil springs, one of the firmest wires used in mattress manufacturing in the UK today.
Each row is attached to the next row by a spiral wire, known as a helical wire. A thick rod edge wire surrounds the perimeter for extra edge support.
Manufactured?to offer an extra firm support, the Lockwood mattress is designed to be dual-sided and requires to be flipped over and rotated regularly.
